Taking the Leap (and Facing the Doubt)
A call was scheduled with an Innova educator named Leo.
My girlfriend put the phone on speaker so I could listen in.
He sounded like a genuinely nice guy. He shared his story—how he first started trading, how he lost a significant amount of money in the beginning, and how everything changed after he joined Innova. After a few years of learning and improving, he was eventually invited to become an educator himself.
It was a good story.
But I was still skeptical.
We didn’t know this guy.
For all we knew, it could’ve just been a well-practiced sales pitch.
And it wasn’t cheap.
The program cost $1,200 USD upfront, plus $99 per month.
From my perspective, that was a serious investment—especially after already losing money trading.
But for my girlfriend, the mindset was different.
She had already lost $2,500.
At that point, she felt like:
“I’d rather take a chance on learning from someone experienced than keep losing money trying to figure this out on my own.”
So she made a decision.
She pulled out her credit card… and signed up.
A few days later, she was invited to her first live Zoom call.
This session was for new members.
Leo introduced himself again—this time to the group—and something interesting came up.
He actually lived in Vancouver too… just in a nearby city.
That added a small layer of trust.
During the call, he focused on getting everyone set up properly:
How to use MetaTrader 5
How to place trades correctly
Setting stop losses and take profits
Setting up TradingView charts
All the basics that we completely skipped when we started.
The classes were held in the evenings, about three times a week.
And to his credit—he took his time.
He made sure people understood what he was teaching before moving on.
What surprised me even more was the structure of the group.
It wasn’t just Leo.
There were multiple educators, each covering different areas of trading:
Risk management
Candlestick reading
Market structure
Strategy breakdowns
There were also live trading sessions in the mornings, where they would:
Enter trades in real time
Explain why they chose those setups
Show when and why they took profits
That part stood out the most to me.
Because that’s exactly what was missing from all the courses we tried before—the application.
On top of that, Innova had a full library of:
Recorded lessons
Previous live sessions
Trade breakdowns
Everything you could go back and study again.
At this point, I started to feel less skeptical.
And eventually…
I became a student too.
Since my girlfriend was already in the group, I was able to learn alongside her without paying extra.
But the real confirmation came from somewhere unexpected.
I was catching up with a close friend one day, and he asked what I had been up to.
I told him:
“We just started trading… joined a group called Innova.”
He immediately said:
“Oh yeah—my wife and I have been in it for about four months now. It’s a great group.”
That caught me off guard.
Then I remembered…
He had actually told me about a trading group before—but at the time, it didn’t register.
Now everything was starting to connect.
